Authors & Illustrators Panel Form

Authors and Illustrators who have SCBWI PAL membership and are located in the Rocky Mountain region may participate in the Panel program.

To be considered to sit on a panel, all you need to do is make sure you have marked the appropriate Panel box on the Speaker List Form. If you have already filled out a form but neglected to check this box, contact the webmaster directly with Speaker List Correction in the Subject Line.

Note that checking the Panel box does not guarantee that you will be contacted to be part of a panel. Our Panel Coordinator will match requests based on the institution’s requirements.

By marking the panel box, you agree to accept $75 if you sit on a panel (except bookstore panels, where you will not receive compensation). Panel sessions will last no more than one hour and you will be paid by the institution on the day of the event. You will NOT be paid by RMC-SCBWI.

Finally, if the institution has requested book sales and autographing, you agree to remain after the panel to autograph books for at least 30 minutes but no longer than an hour.

Sitting on a Panel FAQs

What is the P.A.L. membership tier?

P.A.L. stands for “Published and Listed.” See the SCBWI website and our PAL page for more information.

If I just want to be on a panel, do I have to fill out a Speaker List Form?

Yes! Interested institutions will want to now about you. Feel free to include “I do not do school visits or other presentations. I am only available for panels” in the PRESENTATIONS section of the form.

I usually charge more to sit on a panel. Can I adjust the fee?

No. The fee is set to make it easier for institutions looking for a panel to plan and budget.  If you can’t accept $75 for sitting on a panel, do not mark the panel box on the Speaker List form.

I no longer want to be included in the Speaker List or as a panelist. How do I get my information removed?

Contact  the Webmaster with REMOVE FROM SPEAKER LIST in the Subject Line of your email. Include your first and last name in the body of the email so we may find your listing quickly and remove it.
